April Fool's!

Snow in April is not unheard of, but it is rare and coming on the heels of the super warm weather it is especially startling.
The first of the new lambs are in the fields and I can't help but wonder what they make of this. If they stay snuggled up to mum, they'll be fine. Most of Caithness is "at the lambing" or "the calving", or both. It is a place and a time and a celebration and a worry all rolled into one.

It looks like you tried to post a picture, but it didn't take. Did it really snow? We have frost warnings tonight, at least away from the City -- which only makes sense, despite our eight 80 degree days in March, when you consider that the major league baseball season is getting underway.... Cold and damp weather, here we come!

Oh yes it did snow. And yes, I thought I had loaded a photo.

80 degrees, woo! That is only a vague memory now. I actually did some baseball explaining yesterday. I wore a baseball cap --I usually avoid this cuz it makes me look like s tourist but I've been here long enough now to care about that so much. My fellow walking companions commented on Americanism and said it should be on wrong way round and I explained about catcher's mask and wrong way round hats, which in that case, are right way round.
